here is my oracle, just recently picked it up and i love it.. i should of bought one years ago
i dont know much about these guns but i will learn, im happy with the 16" barrel but wouldnt mind picking up an 18" but the only thing that i dont like is the cone barrel nut and i wish it had a longer 4 rail on it.. guess i need to acquire a few tools or find a local around tulsa that wants to lend a hand http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x83/kirk_e/IMG_1268.jpg |

My 3-gun heavy metal tac optics build:
Tactical Machine TM 308 lower with RRA 2-stage trigger Had an spare A2 stock, needed 308 rifle buffer and spring JSE DPMS LR308 upper receiver with charging handle Surplus Ammo DPMS 308 bolt carrier assembly DPMS LR308L "Hunter" 18" barrel (.750 under hand guards, .720 after gas block), fluted at muzzle end MI gas block, gas tube JP .308 Bennie Cooley .308 compensator JSE DPMS 308 Carbon Fiber hand guard (3) Magpul 308 Pmags I swapped my TA-11 to this from my AR15, and mounted my Aimpoint ML2 on the AR15. Also picked up a Daniel Defense offset mount for a JPoint/DR Optic when funds allow for close in targets when the BAC of the TA-11 reticle is slow to acquire. This rifle is light weight in the hands, balances perfectly right at the mag well and is going to be my favorite rifle to shoot (until the cost of .308 ammo makes a serious dent in my budget) I've picked up a 200 round box of Malaysian .308 from 1982 from Surplus Ammo to get it broken in.

Aren't you happy with the TAC11? I I'm considering the TAC11E on a similar built. The side rail is for a future Docter/Trijicon RMR when funds allow. I love my TA11. It's not ideal from inside 30 yards with the 3.5x unless you occlude the front and use it like an Aimpoint, but outside that it the BAC really shines and I love it much more than irons. For inside 30 yds, I think an RMR would be tits. I haven't doped the stadia lines on it for the drop of a .308, mainly because I don't have a long range facility anywhere close that's less than three hours away. It's zeroed for 100 now, using the top of the donut reticle, similar to how I zeroed it on my AR15. |

so my stock oracle is at the top, and here is how its setting now i am looking for a new set of scope mounts so i can get rid of the bulky riser

something a bit different: LR-308B with fluted barrel and A4 receiver - picked it up from a forum member. This is CF rifle length handguard that I painted FDE and cut a hole to operate set screws of the gas block (rifle has carbine gas system) if I wanted to remove it even again :) now:  when I got it:  |

Its a type of rifle used in bench rest shooting.
Generally a rail gun is the basic components of a rifle (albeit extremely tuned components) mounted to a base, a chunk of solid steel usually. So you have a barrel, firing mechanism, and then an absurdly large (up to 100lbs is what I've seen) base. Thus the users can fine tune accuracy based on components and ammo loads without having to worry about even the slightest user error tainting the numbers. Its also a whole nother' argument apparently... No skill shooting? or Skilled builder proving that the parts and ammo are capable of perfect shots? This is my first AR .204 ruger, tasco scope, match trigger assembly, 1:12 CL bull barrel and harris bipod. I'm now on the hunt for another upper to use for deer hunting. Something a little lighter than this tank.

Here is my LR308 build, I went with the M110 SASS look. The DPMS BCG was the most diffcult part to get.

I think that picture could use some explaining. Is that custom? What is the handguard's length? Barrel length? How does it mount to the receiver? Free float? What other goodies have you added to accurize it? |

My new DPMS Recon .308
She's a fat girl, and she's going on a diet!!! I want a Troy TRX Extreme .308 13.8", and get the barrel fluted to reduce weight. I also want a Magpul PRS stock. Next year, I am going to build a 20" upper with a carbon fibre tube for long range\light weight. |
