*deleted* An old picture (I know not the best quality, but hey, it was with a phone  ) of shortly after I first got it. It was love at first site when I walked into the sporting goods store. My first gun of my very own. It has changed a lot since then, I put a timney trigger in it, new grip, YHM quad rail, AIMPOINT comp2, and prolly about 1000 rounds through it. No hic ups yet, minus a couple times having to push the forward assist while using one of the no name 30 round mags that came with it. What is still there is the quick release aimpoint mount and the MI BUIS.

My AP4 gets used hard while hunting. Want to get the barrel turned down to "recon" profile, and put MOE handguard and stock on it. I am sticking with plastic handguards so it can be light as possible.
Excuse the walmart rings and cheap scope, I am poor. Cell phone pic from last week.

My new DPMS LR-308T
w/A3 flat-top & 16" heavy bbl.. with A2 stock, Hogue PG, Miculek 'brake'.. factory Free Float 'carbine' tube w/vent slots. (this was a surprise as the dealer pic wasn't clear to see).. added 3/4" QD riser and Bushnell Trophy RD 65/3 moa.. has a factory LOW-PRO gas block also.. (another bonus as it IS below the handguard tube level) I have a MI 'flip-up' front site (for gas-block) and MagPul MBUS (rear) coming in tommorrow and 2 MagPul SR20 mags (308).. http://accessoryarms.com/forums/DPMS_AR10.jpg Al |

Gardner, that is one of the nicest 308 AR platforms I have seen. I think that is a perfect "battle rifle" setup for the 308. What are the specs on the barrel?

My "new to me" rifle that I picked up on Snipers Hide from another member.
-AP4 16 inch barrel -VTAC Carbine Tube -Magpul PRS Stock -Millet TRS1 4-16x (newer model) -Burris PEPR Mount (not pictured here, Primary Arms mount pictured) -JP "Cooley brake" -JP trigger/speed hammer -JP adjustable gas block 
And after sighting it in I put a solid 40 rounds dead center at 100 yds using mostly American Eagle 168 gr M1A.

Well I ended up getting one, Its a .308 AP4. I shaved the FSB and slapped some Troy BUIS on it, an a Eotech 516 and Geissele SSA 2 stage trigger. I also put a Magpul angled fore grip, an SJC Titan Compensator on it, Hogue grip, and a BlueForce Vickers sling. I found a local gun shop that had P-Mags for $15ea. so I bought all of them they had for good measure. It is definitely a shooter. With a scope it is sub MOA even with surplus ammo. With the Eotech I was able to maintain a 5" spread at 100 yards and that should get better once I get more used to it (first time to use one). I may look at getting a 3x magnifier for long range as the scope I was using belongs on my Remington 700 full time.

this is my lady shooting my LR-308B. Harris bi-pod, custom rear mono-pod, tightened trigger group, Bushnell 3200 elite scope, Leopold Rings. She's definately not afraid of it though.

Preliminary picture of my R25(308), you know LR308 with $300 Remington paint job She's not finished with upgrades and replacements. Will post more pictures later. This is my first 308, but Im not new to AR platforms or high power rifles, as you will see in further pictures. I just wanted my first 308 to be something I can trust. |

pics later. this is a nice thread. lots of great looking and shooting rifles. now, i gotta ask. where are you all getting the rail, and vented free float handguards ? also, if my trigger turns out to be crap, what do you suggest ? been looking at the timney ar308 , 4lb'er. also favorite loads ? i have some ammo left over from my old remington 308 hb, and what i run in fals. 46.5 gr's of varget under a 168 sierra bthp. anyone else running that recipe ? have a great day all, off to work, then to pick up my newest toy.... !!!! |

Sorry about the garbage pictures I cant find ether charger for my DSLR. One of these days I'll weigh it with a good scale but as of now I've been using a normal scale where I stand on it and weigh myself then hold the rifle and do it again. I've never had a difference of more then 10lbs (after like 12 times of on and off) so I figure I'm safe to say under 10lbs :D
