My thought was to find a model like this and not only do the push pin conversion on it but change out the barrel for a proper m16a2 barrel. It will be a spendy endeavor but it would be close enough to satisfy my clone itch. Colt match |

| thats one way to go about it, could also find a "MATCH TARGET TARGET MODEL" (government profile barrel) and get it threaded but then you won't have a bayonet lug |

| I actually did this on a ban era Match Target. I had John Thomas replace the FSB and thread the barrel, then I mounted a LMT M203. Had to file the holes on the bracket slightly as they were slightly off - mounting a M203 is truly annoying business (no surprise the Europeans mostly stuck to rifle grenades in that era). |
| I’d personally look for a blue label 6551 Sporter Match Target that’s drilled for the front push pin and weep hole. Find one that only has the single sided blind pin for the autosear block. It will have the m16a2 govt barrel and a nice gray anodized finish. It only needs the FSB replaced with an unneutered bayonet lug FSB. |
