I feel like an idiot, and there must be something simple I'm doing wrong. I am changing the barrel on my Colt 6920. I am able to properly torque the barrel and get clearance on the factory barrel nut. However, the weld spring inside the Delta ring assembly is blocking the gas tube from passing through the upper receiver. I transferred this Delta ring from the original barrel, to the new Colt barrel. I lined everything up with the snap ring pliers, but when I turn and thread the barrel nut, everything seems to get misaligned, and blocks the gas tube from being able to pass through without hitting the weld spring. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've built several ar's, but this is the first time I've ever changed an old school mil-spec barrel with a Delta ring assembly. |
