I thought I’d share a pic of my completed DOE clone project. Other than the stamp, it’s been done for a while. It started as a complete minus lower Colt 635 kit and an LRB lower. I contemplated using a caliber conversion block, but decided to use the pinned in old school magwell block that came with the kit. The front sight and single piece are aftermarket. A friend did the pinning of the magwell block. JT did the barrel work and assembly. The stamp took 4 weeks to get back after submission. Banging a steel silhouette at 50 yards is easy. I started before PSA had their kits, but I think this was cheaper than a PSA version. I am considering changing out the 1 piece handguard to a 2 piece PSA set, but for now, I’m done. Nice. I bought a DOE upper a little bit before H&R showed their prototype off. Have an H&R 633 upper (10.5”) which I swap the bolt between the two. Very happy with both, but going to test it with an FRT next weekend. Should be more/better. Mine came with the one piece handguard. Swapped for the two piece once it was stocked. Definitely recommend, as it just feels correct.
