I had a few colt 6920s in the past but always parted with them for the dumbest reasons like using the money to build project guns that in the end were only range toys. Im sure my builds are possibly duty level as I was pretty anal about them. But still. I like the peace of mind knowing a weapon system was born as a duty weapon from a mfr that builds duty weapons. Sounds dumb I know but its my mentality. Looking to move to a fighting rifle sbr. I have enough uppers and 16 inch and up guns. I dont feel like building an upper anymore or registering anymore SBR lowers so was looking into the used market and often see the LE trade in Colt 6945 monolithic uppers . Are they usually beat to crap? I cant imagine it being worse than anything I was issued in the Army but who knows. Anyone ever grab one? Worth it for sub 700? ETA Fudge it for $650 Ill give it a shot. Comes with PRI M48 CH and Colt BCG Got it. Definitely been carried and shoved into vehicles and tight arms room racks. Has that Napoleon Tannerite custom down the driveway look. Bore looks great, bolt wear no worse any any of my range toys with a couple thousand rounds on them. Just have to put some rounds through it now. |

I picked up one and in retrospect I wish they had more. 14.5" Colt upper with a Larue quad and KAC rear BUIS. Well-worth the $300 I paid for it. It included the Colt FA BCG. I have a few LE trade-in rifles and all have been fine, if not somewhat cosmetically challenged. Colt 6520, 6920 and a Bushhamster A2 carbine. |
