Bought two bottles of new LSA from Sportsman's Guide the other day. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/us-military-surplus-lsa-weapons-oil-2-pack-new?a=1947297 I have read and seen one video where the stuff is white in color. The stuff in these two bottles is like a dark beer. I shook them up thoroughly before pouring a sample. No objectionable smell. Does it change color if heated up or over long-term storage? IME it is white but it separates with the white stuff settling out leaving the darker carrier oil on top. If a smaller container is filled from a larger container without first shaking up the original container, you can end up with a bottle of (entirely/mostly) carrier. That said, I have not seen that happen with commercially filled bottles; only at the unit level when smaller bottles were refilled from bulk containers. |
