For no particular reason, I put a 20” HBAR and a Rapidex knob on a C7 upper. Now I’m considering finding a carry handle mount and fixed stock cheekpiece. A Delta HBARish rifle, perhaps. I already have the practical flattop rifles, Mk12 clone, an A2, the credible C8ish clone. For some reason the weird 1980s aftermarket stuff has been appealing to me lately. Just accept that I have a retro problem which requires increasing levels of stimulation. How were the Leatherwood style mounts? Are the ones SARCO sells any good? (Weaver or 1913 rail?) The Sarco ones aren’t great reproductions from what I’ve heard but have no direct experience with them. I owned an original Leatherwood one made for the M16 slip ring. It’s a vibe. Ultimately I decided to part with it because I did not like not being able to use my iron sights on that rifle. These mounts are solid with no iron sight trench/port. |
