I think I got yelled at in Retro the last time I posted a C7 there. So it it is so I can get yelled at and told its not an A2, lol. I wanted a Tri-Rail mount for my C7A1.5 sorta build but A) they're hard to find and B) they're expensive. So I found an .stl file and 3 d printed one. I used ASA which has a good heat resistance and lined the part that touches the barrel with heat reflective tape. I shimmed it with a thick rubber tape behind the heat shield tape since I used an A1 barrel on my build rather than an A2 profile. It seems quite solid, and it should hold up to the heat. I've used ASA and heat shield tape on N23 handguards with good success so far. It should be solid enough to mount a light on at the very least and has the right look. Total cost of the material, tape and an M4 screw and bolt was probably well under $5. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Yeah, I’ll make us a few. I can either mold up originals or a 3D printed copy and crank some out. They’d require a little bit of post casting clean up, but a minimal amount of some hand filing at most. A 3D one might be a better pattern if it could be made a few thou to accommodate the contraction of the aluminum. But not entirely necessary. |

G&G makes a reproduction Diemaco Tri Rail for airsoft use, it may be just 6061 aluminum vs 7075 but better than nylon or plastic: https://101techusa.com/tri-rail-mount-black.html |

You’ll see them mounted backwards but IIRC it was because the M203 sight interfered? It’s been a long time since I had an M203 mounted on a C7 (2004) so my memory is a little fuzzy. It definitely would interfere with the M203 sight on a C8, so they came out with a modified Triad for the C8A3. Nella bayonet? Nice score if it is. |
