| Can a standard carbine extension be used on an AR pistol or do I need a smooth "pistol"-length extension? |

Because we aren't sure how it all the legalities play out and want to stay legal in the meantime. I am hoping everything goes our way and I can make an SBR without the extra $. I am assembling a pistol lower now, so I can make the upper I want in anticipation. I mean, I've never seen the ATF at the range, but as Murphy dictates, the first time I do something legally questionable will be on the same day every agent in the state ends up at my club.

| PSA and others sell pistols with carbine tubes on them. There’s a brace placeholder on them as well, unless it’s just an assembled pistol lower from PSA. Federally and in SD, they’re good to go. I don’t pay attention to other states laws and can’t confirm your AO’s rules. As mentioned prior, some shitholes won’t allow it…because they’re unAmerican. |

OP, think about how a SBA3 brace attaches? Would your pistol, without the brace and just the 6 position carbine buffer tube still be a pistol? Palmetto state has selling some of their stripped lowers for $30 and $40 and I bought a few to SBR when the tax goes to zero. But I wish they would have been removed completely and am disappointed. |
