Hi everyone, New here. I am planning my first ever AR15 build, and was hoping that someone might take a look at my parts list and see if I am missing anything. I am looking for a light AR to carry around some private land which has wild pigs on it. The rifle would be primarily for personal safety, or impromptu short distance predator control when walking around the land. I anticipate carrying this rifle for quite a distance at times, and would like the lightest I can get that stays near my budget of about $600. Is this crazy to try to build a “lightweight” AR at this price? I am not looking for any superior accuracy or a range gun. It should not see a lot of rounds either. Parts below were chosen based on front-end weight reduction being my primary focus, as well as cost. I will likely mount a cheap red dot on it only. No need for other accessories other than a 2-point sling. If you see something missing or that does not make sense on the parts selection, or improvements that could be made, please let me know.
