Latest build has right at 700rds through it, most of which were suppressed. Was cleaning today after shooting and noticed there was a broken gas ring, you think this was a fluke or just the name of the game shooting suppressed? Specs on gun DD 16" mid length AO Precision mil spec type bcg Carbine spring with H1 buffer(now H2) Hux Flow 556K I wouldn't say the gun is severely over gassed but is a little on the aggressive side. I run the gun on the wet side if that makes a difference. I did just swap out the buffer today for an H2 and might try swapping the spring to a Sprinco blue to see what it'll do. Ejection before the buffer swap was around 1:30/2:00, now it's closer to 3:00 if that chart still has any bearing. |

Fluke. If you order the Blue spring from Sprinco... remember they sell gas rings as well. |

We see this occasionally when teaching Armorer courses. Could have been something that happened to it when the bolt was installed and the gas ring got caught going in, which deformed it and caused the issue. We have also seen a few bolt carriers that had burrs of metal left inside the gas vent holes, which the burrs would rub and tear up the gas rings. To check for burrs, install the bolt, and slowly cycle it by hand as you watch the gas rings rotate back/forth across the gas vent holes, and see if you feel them catching on anything, as they should be smooth as they cross the vent holes. If the gas rings are catching on something as they cross the vent holes, then you most likely have burrs. | If I could find the pieces I would look at how they "broke". Have seen newer rings that looked like they melted into thin sharp pieces on the ends where they broke and ones that were just broken/bent. The ones that looked melted into I just replace guessing they were made of junk material and the other I looked for some reason of what might have broken them. |
