7.62x51 British long range experimental tracers, headstamps L5A1/ K/ 61, from the Kynoch factory. Made back in the late '50s to early '70s with these being made in 1961. Geat Britian was looking to perfect trace distance and to match the velocity of a normal ball round when fired from a machine gun. There are at least 20 different kinds, thru changing ogive shape of the bullet, different gun powders, and construction of the trace chemicals, all hand painted tips from the factory. Might be as little as only 50 of each color . All records of this and other tracer experimentals have been lost for ever and only a couple of collectors even know what these are. wolfgang
