Hello, I have an 11.5 dedicated suppressor build that I run a Surefire 300sps can on. I use a surefire 3 prong muzzle device with a KAK suppressed only barrel. The gas to the face and gas system itself is very manageable, but I get what seems like an excessive amount of gas blow back from the bottom of the can onto my hand. After one mag my pointer finger down to my thumb are completely black. Is this normal with a suppressor? If not what would possible causes be from? Before this I had a carbine length 11.5 barrel and a different gas block and had the same issue, so if there is a problem I'm fairly confident it's with either the can or the muzzle device. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 300SPS and a 556-RC and I get a bit of Blow back via the gun/charging handle, but I get nothing that I have ever seen or noticed from the muzzle end. I dunno if it matters or not, but I bought about a dozen SF Muzzle Brakes when I 1st got the cans so I could make several ARs and a few bolts hosts and be able to switch the two cans across most of my centerfire rifles. I've never tried a flash hider or the 3 prong deals, only the brakes... I think I still need a few more. |
