| I have a Colt 6520 that I love but I would like to add a RDS using an USGI Aimpoint gooseneck mount with C clamp. I prefer absolute cowitness to 1/3. In order to get an absolute cowitness should I get a RDS that clamps directly to the gooseneck mount like the Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot or go with someone higher like the Holosun ARO ? Thanks in advance for any help! |

The PA advanced Red Dot mounted on the lower rail above the hand guard will be the closest to co-witness with the carry handle rear sight. You might find a picture of similar size optics and mounts to show that it is workable. You might look in the retro section for pictures. I used a similar Trijicon mount years ago until I got a flat top upper and the mount and RDS gave an absolute co-witness for me. I did a google search for AR-15 carry handle goose neck mount pictures and there were many pictures.
