I recently got my first full factory Modlight setup (PLHv2 handheld); all good so far except the 18350 cell it came with doesn't have a built in USB port and therefore requires a bulky cradle to charge. Not ideal to have to bring that on the road if I'm away from home and want to top off the battery. Are there any known good brands of 18350 with built in charge ports? |

Thanks guys. Spare is probably the best option then... even that single port charger looks bigger than just carrying another battery. More questions/observations: - XTAR MC2 (the charger I have) says on the back output of 1A spread between the two slots. It actually draws 2.5A when put on a decent charger (when charging a single battery)... does that sound ok or do you need to use a charge port that is only capable of putting out 1A max? -The Modlite branded cell that came with it says 1200mah capacity, where the Surefire with the charge port says 1100mah... I take it based on the above comments that the "real world" capacity difference seems more significant than that? -The Vapcells referenced above also have a stated capacity of 1100mah, and no "nipple" on the positive terminal... do they still physically work with normal flashlight/other applications where every other battery has the little nipple on the positive port (maybe I just like saying "nipple"?) If they are the same stated capacity as the Surefire with the built in port, what makes them better? |

They work fine with your setup (plhv2 and normal 18350 body). If you want one with a nipple, you can either take it to the grocery store and go to the frozen food section, or order it with the nipple added from illumn.com. I charge all my stuff at 500ma max. Its just better for it and I have enough batteries that I'm not desperate to cut charge times. |
