I got a Faxon 12.5 Midlength gas barrel that I was shooting so kinda a wierd one  to try it with but it worked

Same. One of the best BCG's I've ever bought. Probably pushing close to 5,000 rounds. Gas rings are obliterated and the bolt will move backwards if the wind blows but I never replaced them and it's still going strong.

Gas rings are dirt cheap, it's a 5 minute job. Pieces of rings floating around in there are a liability.

My BCG was delivered today.  It looks fine, like the ones in everyone's photos.  It did have the grease on the cam pin.

Damnit, ARFCOM costs me $69 again.

EDIT:  Received it today.  Exactly as described by other posts, no markings, dry phosphate finish, good chrome plating, cam pin greased.

It is about to be used in an FRT blaster, so we shall see how well it holds up to that.

THIS IS NOT A BCM PRODUCT (and does NOT go thru the BCM QC process).
Just use it for a training bcg.

Just got a BCM marked BCG in a complete upper off their site and it has the exact same grease on the cam pin as the $59 ones.

This leads me to believe BCM is at least assembling these BCGs in house.

Please explain why all bolts made out of 9310 suck. I guess you can never shoot any 6.8mm or any other high pressure cartridges, because all those bolts are made out of 9310. I personally don't own any because I only shoot 556. That being said, I wouldn't be afraid to own one as long as it's made by a quality company. And you know, it's properly, he treated. I also wouldn't be afraid to own a nitride carrier. Personally I prefer DLC chrome lined carriers and Colt Chrome Bolts because I shoot high back pressure cans.

That is REALLY interesting. No one else does this, so this leads me to your conclusion that BCM is assembling these and sealing the plastic bags they come in after seeing your pics.

The only conclusion I can reasonably draw from this, is that BCM was approached to make (or at least assemble) some BCG's for a contract (whether it be domestic, overseas, or for Ukraine as some have alluded) and it was either cancelled or modified leaving them with hundreds of extra BCGs to sell off that are not "BCM spec" as they would do for their laser-marked retail BCGs but are of similar quality.

As I said, it could just be a contract to assemble them since BCM has such a robust QC/QA/assembly line and process, so the specs/batch specs could differ from that BCM would usually prefer which is why they stipulate the 'this is not a BCM BCG'.

We also know that BCM lasers their bolts and carriers in house AFTER they QC them (you can see the blank carriers during the QC process in the Vickers tour video of BCM with Paul) so that means these could have been through the hands of BCM's assembly process just minus lasering at the final step before packaging.

IMO given the evidence, these are whitelabel BCM BCG's (minus the QC process) from a cancelled contract.

Just received a second bcg both look as reported with the white grease in poly bag. I have one in use in a 11.5" Colt upper so far gtg the other is in parts stash, for $71 shipped definitely a good buy.

I'm inclined to agree.  Meanwhile, has anyone noticed there are "no reviews yet" on BCM's web site for these things?  Seems odd.

I got a third of these, looks good no complaints and cycles as expected.

I emailed BCM asking for information on where these BCGs are sourced and they never responded.

Tossed one in this BKF chrome lined patrol upper. Only $250 with furniture. Nice little budget blaster, the Holosun ARO is nice.

I was intrigued by this deal after picking up some BCM Blem uppers and reading this thread.  So I picked up both the BCG and the stripped bolt carrier which arrived today.  I compared them to a White Label Armory and a Microbest, to which the $59 BCG and stripped carrier appears right off the bat to have weak staking.

The stripped carrier arrived wrapped nicely in plastic within a box and appears to have rust (maybe, it looks like it’s pitted), on the gas key.  The BCG arrived in bubble wrap, plastic packaging and the thick white lithium-like grease on it like the others.

Ahhh that’s wild!  I’m going to use mine with a headspaced bolt, perhaps I should have just bought another full BCG in that case.

As for the rust, I did reach out to BCM over the weekend and had a reply promptly at 0600 this morning (Monday) and they immediately provided a shipping label.  They said they’d ship a replacement in the meantime so I “wasn’t out for too long” lol A+ for customer service at least.  However, in your case, it may not hurt to reach out to them to see if they’re willing to take care of you given that it isn’t working.

Neither did Pmags, heavy duty extractor springs, heavy duty extractor spring inserts, or the current spec lubricant.

Things get upgraded if they’re an actual upgrade.   All the commercial ‘upgrades’ are largely marketing garbage.

What makes any of BCM’s offerings more appealing?

They have never made anything and source all of their parts from the same manufacturers every other commercial builder does.  They just put a star on most of it.

Regarding the white grease, I just recently purchased a new BCM BCG (not the commercial one that this thread is about), and it too had a liberal coating of white grease around the cam pin hole.  Any idea why BCM seems to all of sudden think this is a good idea? Wondering if I should start doing this as a habit.

The cam pin is a bearing basically. It is probably some type of white lithium or engine assembly lube. In theory should stick longer than just oil.

I ordered a stripped carrier, and complete bcg.

The stripped carrier seemed to gauge well, and appeared well staked. Finish was pretty light though, so I'd probably skip this one.

The complete BCG seemed to gauge out well, staking was good, three bore was good.
No real machining marks, and chrome looked good. Bolt was not marked in anyway, and the cam pin did not come greased.
Not a bad deal for $60. Not certain I would trust it for a primary though.

I have to give BCM major props for their decisively fast responses via their contact us form.

I had recently ordered some rail covers, both picatinny and keymod, and the picatinny cover was the wrong size and color.

A quick email to them, and within 4 minutes, I had a reply.

I sent them pictures of everything, and the rep made it extremely simple to get them returned.

All I have to do is print out the email chain, and fill out the RMA form.

Items are going back to WI on Tuesday as the missus and I are going on a short trip this weekend.

I've always heard that BCM has had fantastic service if needed.

Today, I am grateful for their help.

It gauged on the tight end on all specs.

Actual results:
3 bore
.531 bolt bore
.500 gas rings
bolt tail takes .250+ gauge, does not take .251 minus gauge

.312+ bolt cam pin
.380 bolt face
.180- gas key wont take .182 -

Chrome was good, finish good, and bolt good.

The stripped carrier also gauged well but the finish was way lighter than the complete one.  I'd probably not buy one again, unless you happen to have a spare bolt around already.

Bcg did not have a greased cam pin.
