| So I purchased one 3 position Arizona regulator and had no issues at all! Put it through the ringer! Then got a second one and was put back for awhile. Then About a week ago I installed it into one of my lowers put a RiS III upper on it and first day out in semi it was going full FRT. brought it home swapped uppers went out and same thing. Then I checked everything out. Installed on a different lower same thing. I have been through over a dozen lowers and uppers from super duty’s to 200 dollar uppers lol this thing is not having it. I have looked and searched for anything that could be the issue and gave it a go, still this system will fire doubled trippers even mag dump on Semi. About to give up on it even after installing it into my other setup that worked fine it still busted out a few sets FRT, does anyone have anything I can look at? Yes springs are correct, changed out the disco spring 5 times. Tried a different trigger and even took some material off the back tail of the hammer lol. I have tuned and messed with every FRT on the market litterly this is the only one that just isn’t working! Any help would be appreciated! |

After checking the disconnector spring and hammer, I filed the end that contacts the trigger to stop the FRT in semi. Worked great. This pic is an early one I welded and reshaped into a 3 position. Unfortunately, not all frt's are drop-in. If you aren't a tinkering, puzzle solving type with easy access to a place to shoot and test stuff, this realm will be frustrating.

Had this happen with my AZR-A1 that’s in my M16A1 clone. I had to file the top of my hammer that was contacting the regulator and causing it to inadvertently go into FRT mode while in semi. File some off, take a sharpie to it, cycle it, look at the hammer and then see if some of the sharpie got rubbed off from contacting the regulator. Repeat until no more sharpie is getting rubbed off, then refinish it with some Brownell’s Oxpho-Blue or something. Sometimes weird contact issues can happen with the AZR due to tolerance stacking issues between parts. (Location of the sear pocket relative to position of the trigger pins in the lower, fitment of the upper and lower together etc.) |
