I'm an old man, cleaning brushes for me have always been bronze, or bronze/steel in the case of the GI chamber brushes. However, I recently heard someone I respect for AR knowledge speak positively about the blue nylon ones. Is the future already here, and it is a blue chamber brush? Do I miss "it" and become unhip with the times? What's better about them? |

I've been using them for a few years (about 6) mainly because they don't deform as readily and may be a little less abrasive during frequent cleaning. I also keep bronze and bronze/stainless chamber brush to clean the barrel, chamber, and lugs, but I don't use them as often. They make the chamber brushes in polymer too. So, I wouldn't call them the new hotness or anything. Most people just don't know about them. BTW I'm an old man too. |

| I've always used my old, decomissioned toothbrushes. I'll primarily use bronze bristles to clean a chamber (or just a boresnake), but the toothbrush does very well on parts soaked in Hoppes #9. |
