Rummaging through the safe and came across the AR10 parts (upper lower mags etc) I bought during the ScamDemic.  I then realized I will never build it up.

Question, are the parts worth selling or just box the back up and forget about them for another couple of years?

Depending on the brand I would hold on to them until the next ban scare. Then move them if you are never going to do anything with them.

Aero recently went under, so right now might be the opportune time to offload a receiver set that someone wants.

As for me, bought two large frame lowers and two large frame uppers this year. 8.6 Blackout and 308. Form 1 is pending.

Sweet set ups.👍

Been awhile since I've shipped a lower.
FedEx and UPS won't do it anymore unless you're a dealer.

I just dug out one of mine in 6.5 Manbun. Gonna use it for hogs this weekend. Primary Arms 2.5 prism on top. Should work plenty well.

I built an AR10 308 on an Aero lower years ago.  Hits hard, accurate, reliable; what's not to like?

I figure it does everything an M1A, FAL or G3 does, probably better, and with a familiar manual of arms and SOME parts interchangeability.

Did yours take the M14 pattern mags?

I'm probably mistaken but Aero may have started in the 308 game making Armalite pattern lowers with the M14 mags.

WTF happened to Aero?! Knew them idiots should have listened to me when I told them to drop the stupid billboard A on the receiver.

If you hold it and have the LPK, or at least the pivot/take-down pins(<-gold)
for M5 parts. Everything else can be overcome more easily than not having those pins.

Those pins are hard to find

No, Aero hasn't gone belly up yet.  Aero (and its sister companies Ballistic Advantage, Stag Arms, and VG6) went into general receivership in May with J.S. Held LLC as the appointed receiver (a receivership means a neutral third party is assigned by the court as receiver and takes custody, control, and management of the property, assets, or business).  They say that Aero and Ballistic Advantage are still up and running, although fulfillment and shipping is running slower than normal (they probably lost a bunch of employees).

Unlike bankruptcy, receivership is not initiated by the company, its the result of a civil filing by creditors, shareholders, or regulators when they think a business is being mismanaged or has become insolvent.

The company has stated it is unclear if assets will be available for disbursement to unsecured creditors.  That's not good.  They're definitely in financial trouble.  If a buyer is found, the company's debts have to be handled.  The seller could pay off the debt with cash prior to closing on the sale, the buyer could assume the debt, or the debt could be paid at closing through escrow out of the seller's proceeds before being released to the seller.

So, basically, they're in financial trouble and their creditors stepped in out of fear of losing their money.  Why they're in trouble could be due to several issues.

So you take an Eagle Arms 308 AR and stamp Armalite on it and that makes it and AR10, right.

There were only 11k real AR10s made, anything else is a really cheap imitation.

Been wanting to get into an AR-10, though I'm definitely looking to do a very lightweight build for hiking and hunting. Currently waiting for ROAM to restock their receivers.

Big Aero M5 platform fan here... hope someone in the NEAR future picks up the ball and runs with it, especially the OD and FDE anodized stuff.

I say the AR10 is still a thing... I mainly hunt with a variety of Aero M5 based rifles in .243 Win; .308 Win; .338 Federal; 7mm-08; and .358 Win. Not to mention a dozen others in various configurations.

IIRC Eagle Arms receivers were Armalite's stripped receivers so the customers could differentiate between what was an Armalite rifle put together at the factory and rifles that were put together from parts outside of the factory.

Legally and accurately? Yes.  In the everyday world? We know the answer....

Seriously I wonder why no one at referred to their "AR-10" as an SR-25?

AR-10s have ALWAYS been my thing since the late 90s when I could afford them and I've never looked back...

Eagle preceded Arma-IL, it wasn't until after Jeanelle was able to purchase the TM for Mark that they quit stamping Eagle on their guns. In their beginning they did not sell receivers separately and later only as blems.

Go online and see if you can even build out the gun you want right now, at a price you can stomach.

If yes, keep and build right now.

If no, sell parts to someone that answered yes.

Make it a project. About 10 or 12 years ago I bought a DPMS LR 308 and had it immediately barrel swapped I to a 24" fluted .338 Federal. After years went by and I realized that .338 federal ammo was not only getting rarer but more expensive I decided to put the factory 308 barrel back on so I did. The main reasons were availability of ammo and the shorter barrel is more appealing to me at this point.

Now I have a very practical AR platform .308.

If I were you I'd build one if not I'd sell the stuff because it's not going to do anything sitting around but be useless and get in your way. At least that's how it is with me lol

I think they're still a thing.
Who wouldn't want one?

I want to build one in .243
(Mostly because I have a bunch of 243 laying around and I like the cartridge)

There are two sets, one with, one without FCG on gunbroker right now, and I know there are more out there.

Yea yea but OP only needs one plus his choice of trigger.

Did you see the post about why nobody has anything in stock right now, and I don't mean just aero? This is a bad time to be in the gun business and nobody is going to chase opportunity there because there isn't any. Whatever chance anyone thinks there might have once been, PSA has taken all the oxygen left in the room. The vultures will feed. End of Aero, end of story. Most are just going quietly.

Do you mind explaining the pins? I compared a DPMS front pin and an Aero pin and the Aero was slightly longer.

You say you prefer Armalite. Is Mega compatible with anything and how does parts selection differ between DPMS and Mega? I assume mostly the barrel and BCG will be the parts that are affected? Thanks.

Looks like the OP decided to move on.  I frequent this forum, so I’m surprised I missed this thread when OP posted it.

I’ve enjoyed my old school DPMS in 6.5 Creedmoor since I bought it in 2012.  It’s heavy enough that it’s a bench gun only, but I’ve sure enjoyed shooting it over the years.

I built an Aero M5 in .308 several years ago. It's definitely a fun gun to shoot. One of these years I'll get around to trying to hunt with it.

It looks like Aero was bought out recently as well.

You are not LarryG. Only LarryG is the only one that can get bent out of shape.

RIP LarryG

Btw, I built two AR10 clones or AR308s during the pandemic. Yes, LarryG who hate me saying AR10s again.

A hybrid lower that took the Armalite upper cut but used DPMS parts. Mag well is tight. Will reject ASC mags but no problem with Magpul, Hexmag or DSG mags.

Also built a M5 after that because of of the lower built in features.
