So today I tried for the first time just semi auto in my m16a2 clone and I can pull the trigger 3 times on the 4th Ive got a dead trigger. I can slightly and I mean slightly push the trigger forward and the disconnect will click and or push the trigger from the side and it do the same. |

It sounds like something is hanging up on the burst mechanism when it is supposed to be in "semi". The 3 round burst works properly in the 3rd position? |

One of my CARLs was finicky until I stoned off the "flashing" from the disconnectors. Not sure if that's exactly the right term, but the slightly sharp lip left over from the stamping process can cause them to hang up a bit. Secondly, you should do the "flick" thing about a hundred times, where you press down on the hammer with your thumb, and let your thumb slide off so the hammer flicks back forward, in order to make sure your disconnector isn't catching in that space between full depression and caught by the sear. Beyond that, your cam might be sticky. Throw some lube around it, work it in, and keep dry firing it until it dry fires correctly 50 times in a row. |

I also took some 2k grit sandpaper and polished up the cam |

As Elittlefield stated I would try that. Usually its the opposite, semi works and the 3 round does not. |
