Due to the looming awb in my state I picked up an ar10 stripped reciever from my local gun shop. I tried to install the bolt catch and my alignment must have been off. The pin went part ofthe way in and must have pinched the bolt catch between the pin and the other side of the bolt catch ears. I got the pin removed enough to pull the bolt catch out. I looked around and found that AR Stoner makes a screw thst I could use if I thread the ears on the lower. My problem is that I only need this one part but shipping is 3x the cost of the part everywhere i look. Are there any places that can ship this out at a decent price or is there another option outside of the screw that I don't know about? |
| Try again. Use a slave pin first, make or find a pin slightly smaller than the hole to keep the catch in place, and aligned. Make sure to use a starter punch or make your own with a roll pin that your bolt catch pin will fit inside. Your punch inside the roll pin will help you keep alignment correct. Place painters tape on receiver to avoid scratching. Keeping punch aligned gently tap the correct pin in place. |

I took another look this morning and, it looks like I was wrong. I'll find something smaller to use as a slave pin. Thanks for the help. some of those are threaded I think. I have a Aero receiver I tried to put a pin in and it turned out to be threaded if memory serves |
