Pretty much as the subject line says, anyone using this hydraulic buffer in a .40 AR carbine? Any idea of what spring to use or a source that could recommend one? Thanks! |

If anyone has it will be @amphibian .40 Direct blow back or some form of delay like CMMG RDB? Either way, I think a rifle length, 8.3oz hydraulic buffer will be a poor choice and difficult at best to tune. You probably will not get enough mass for DBB(no space)and have to much mass for a delayed set up. If it were me wanting rifle length RE/stock the 5007 would be my choice for either DBB or delayed. Enough room to add mass for DBB and should not too much mass for RDB. You would need custom spacers either way to get the bolt/BCG over travel in check. However, I used the RB5007 not the RB5015HD as I don't like the impulse of the RB5015HD when used in conjunction with a flat spring and the CMMG RDB system. I think the RB5007 is smoother. However, even after all this work, the ejector spring still fails so I'm hoping CMMG releases a fixed ejector Banshee retrofit kit in 10mm then I'll build out another .40SW.  |
