I'm visiting my sister in New Hampshire who is a certifiable gun nut. She has a 11.5" PSA upper to burn down, with a Noveske lower, Arc-fire FRT, Geisselle SSA trigger and a Surefire 300 SPS suppressor to keep the neighbors happy. My visit is not going to be long and I'm trying to prepare my visit to get her FRT running sweetly. I've got a JP silent capture spring setup with 2 steel weights and one tungsten. I'll bring it just incase. The tungsten weights are like $40.00 a piece. Makes more sense to buy individual buffers rather than the weights. She has several other 16" carbine AR's with unknown buffers. The 11.5 PSA was purchased for this project. What do I need to pre-order to give me the best chance of running well? In other words, with an 11.5" upper, suppressed, what will I need to get it to run? |

Yes bring an H3. And a regular old carbine spring. Don’t introduce additional issues you don’t need. And tungsten doesn’t cost $40 per weight. People have been getting entire H3 buffers for around $45 off and on lately. I have zero issue with H, H2, or H3 using the Arc Fire in multiple SBR’s. But H3 is the “will work for sure” solution. |

JP captured buffer tungstens sure do. Not for a set of 3. $40 each.

I'm going to bring that if I want to try additional weights. The standard JP system looks like this with 3 weights  My buddies PCC buffer setup looks like this  The PCC buffer has a shorter stroke so I can't use it int he AR. I'll also order a spring assortment to test the system. I've also ordered a rifle speed adjustable gas block. This thing should run like a 300,000 mile Toyota with some tinkering around. I will definitely report back with video of it running or not running. Thanks for the help guys! Sammy |
