The set up is an AR-15 set up to run 22 LR - Very sweet rig and I love taking new shooters out with it because they can be ringing steel at 25 yards like they are ringing the bells in church... it has the decicated 22 barrel with the collar and CMMG bolt. Installed the Catch-22 bolt catch and it works to have a last round bolt hold open! Sweet. It works correctly with the S&W 15/22 mags. Want to know if anyone has used a CMMG mag with the Catch-22 bolt catch - does it work right? Thank you, Red

I am old retired guy who likes shooting 22 LR firearms and spends a good bit of time on gun forums. I have five AR-15’s dedicated to 22 LR but I use magazines with bolt hold open followers like Black Dog Machine and Gen 1 pattern CMMG magazines. I’ve read the magazine springs are too weak in the current CMMG magazine to actuate the bolt hold open Catch 22. Bore Buddy sell replacement magazine springs that are stronger and might help the reliability of the current CMMG magazines. I’ve read a weaker spring for the bolt hold open in an AR-15’s might also help the current CMMG magazine with the tab that pushes up on the Catch 22 when empty. I was wanting to try the CMMG because it is a few buck cheaper and my fit the mag well a little tighter... Thinking I will order one and play with it - been wanting to get a flush AR-15 mag for the Ruger American Ranch in 223. Red |
