Hey guys I have a spikes lower with standard buffer and spring 2 uppers 1. 7.62x39.and a 5.45x39 . Both are carbine length gas tubes .they seem to function fine but .. theres impact marks on face of buffer. Ideas ? I would add pics .not sure how Thanks |
Need to see marks, since long lines on the outside face edge of the buffer means that the B/C is not pushing the carrier off the buffer retaining pin at lock up, and buffer face is crashing to retainer pin every lock up. To solve this one since buffer retainer pin channel was drilled too far back in lower receiver, buffer pin is replaced with off set retainer pin. Inner scoring lines on more center of buffer face longer ones towards the center, or just chatter one as the circle, then means back slot cut of carrier has burs, and they need to be filed off back of carrier so they stop scoring the buffer face. The long ones come from the bur scrapping down the face of the buffer at upper lock up as it pushing the carrier back, as well as the shorter ones. If just a circle where back of buffer contacts face of buffer, but buffer face at circle is not peen inwards, then on the norm for a black coated buffer. Hence as buffer is pushed back by carrier, its rotating due to the spring being compressed and uncompressed, so any coating on the buffer face, will be worn away from buffer rotation against stationary back of carrier. |
