When you get your lower, if it comes with a stock attached - remove it, and pin a "pistol" length upper onto the lower. You will have then bult a pistol FIRST, and from then on you can use any length upper you want - as long as you don't have a short barreled upper on it with a stock attached. Unless you SBR it, of course. |

| The law is that it would need to be built as a pistol first and then it can go back and forth between rifle and pistol. As a practical matter nobody knows and there’s really no way to check. |
