The extension tube was wrapped mostly because everyone who saw it was adamant that a carbine extension on a pistol made an illegal SBR. While this is not the case it saves me time arguing with folks and looks better. Again, the VFG is legal meeting certain OAL criteria. I still need to find a simple way to stop people from telling me I have an illegal AOW. Maybe etch a tape measure down the side   While it is technically considered a "firearm" as such, it started life as a "pistol."

What are you planning on doing barrel and rail wise? 10.5" rainier arms barrel 5.56 with a diamond head 10.25. I am doing a clone of my 16" rifle.

My first post since I joined. Tried to become a 12er, but couldnt find the password to my internet email address. Totally forgot about using my phones text message email address. So here I am finally. This is my second pistol build, sold my first late last year around November or December to buy the parts for this one. Bought this colt upper used from a friend. Ordered my Noveske chainsaw lower and SSA-E at the first of december, then the shit hit the fan. I was going to order a JP LPK but almost nothing was available, so I had to settle for a CMMG. The last things were a buffer tube assembly and rear sight. I went with Phase5 tube and a Troy fixed rear sight(not pictured). I had more planned for it but nothing was in stock. So I am just going to save up for a while to wait and buy everything else piece by piece as things slow down, prices fall, and parts come back in stock. |
