My build. Waiting for kit from PSA with wrenches and block, etc, plus a gas block. Ordered from Troy after they said it was in stock. That was two weeks ago. I think I'll order one from Bravo today.
PSA blem lower, sale upper, arfcom Bcg, Troy rail, DD 10.3 barrel, a2 fh, sale LPK, sale upper parts, etc. I think I'll have around $870 in all parts when done. Going with magpul sights. |

I knew it was brass because Jason is a buddy of mine. I was just having a little fun when I asked about it in my first post. For the record, I really do think it looks very very nice. Good enough in fact that if we didn't shoot together at the same places most of the time, I would do it to one of my ARs. |

| Techna and I are experimenting with captured spring buffer systems. I used a brass guide rod on this one, and in the process of polishing it and test fitting in the lower I got smudges of brass dust on the lower. I thought it looked cool, so I smeared it all over. I'm assuming it'll wash off with gun scrubber, but haven't tried it yet. Worst case is it'll oxidize/ tarnish and stain the anodizing, but I have no idea if that's even possible... |

my pistol upper arrived this morning! nothing special, just a RedX arms 7.5" upper, del-ton lower and still experimenting with which optic setup I like best. I've got plans to change some things, but I've got plans for other builds also

This is my first post here so I thought I'd share my new Spike's pistol. Picked it up for a song.

I've since fixed it and a few internal things and it shoots flawlessly... although a bit loud. I'm going to try to find a KX3 Flaming Pif for it and I've added a EOTech 512. |

Kinda funky looking, but that's what I was going for!
Nothing fancy: 7.5" Upper RGuns NiB BCG BCM Low Profile Gas Block DD 9.0 MFR MBUS Rear flip sight Troy Flip front BCM Ambi Charging handle Bushnell TRS-25 Noveske KX3 ErgoGrip Rail covers (FDE, Foilage, and OD) Magpul MOE Grip OD Green Magpul Trigger Guard Foliage Green Pistol buffer tube cover (had to use some "pile" side of adhesive backed velcro on the tube so it wouldn't slide off)

My first build. It was actually fun. I mocked up the rail installation. I will install the gas block and tube tomorrow. All that is needed is a sight. ETA: Will install the f2 FH, but I will most likely get a pig or a claymore for it.

First post so hello everyone, I built my first CAR15 back in 1980 using surplus parts and a Palmeto Armory
lower reciever cost me around 350 to build back then and that was including mags........ This is my 250 dollar AR pistol...... Carbon 15 pistol upper and lower parts less Reciver, grip and buffer.... Purchased at auction buffer lost in shipping....... Contacted Bushmaster about purchasing a lower reciever in 2010 was told eveything is still on the pallets call back in a couple of months got this run around for about a year.... was finally told NO we wont sell you a lower. Thank you Bushmaster...... Purchased a New Fronteer pistol lower used it with existing buffer assy. had to mill clearance cut on bottom of bolt rear for detent..... so, how's that for a 1st post. i've been lurking for a while, finally signed up. so here's my story...
new to ARs. not new to firearms. my current safe contents are: two Ruger 10/22's, on a VERY tuned target gun, the other a fun plinker Beretta 391 Beretta Whitewing Glock17 Remington model 700 in .300 win mag Remington 700 in 375 H&H Winchester .270 Marlin .22mag and i just bought a couple New Frontier lowers (stripped). Initially was just going to throw them in the safe - "just in case". i wasn't totally sold on the polymer lower setup. still not, but i do have to say i like the weight and i don't plan to ever take it into combat. since i've started ordering parts, i'm thinking i'm going to pick up a miilled receiver next time i see one on gunbrokerdotcom - or at a show - that is reasonable in today's climate. for my first one i'm building a 300 blackout. why? we shoot a LOT of pigs. and i like being different than everyone else that has a .223 (nothing wrong w/ it, my second build will be .223/5.56) |
