Hahaha... Installing the MI Forearm is pretty easy to do if you're comfortable working on it yourself - you shouldn't need a gunsmith. All you will need is an alan wrench to take the front sight off and a bench grinder OR a dremel tool with a cutting disk to remove the tips of the guide rods. I did need to use a rubber mallot to persuade the lower section on all the way. just mark the exact location of the front sight on the barrel with a pencil and everything will line up when you put it back together. |

Ha! what a coincidence... i just finally got my dig cam working. href=http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/4605/dscn14097yv.th.jpg thats from my first trip to the range with my ar-180b. all groupings are with iron sights only. (dident have the scope at that time) thats from 35yrds with remington UMC 45grain hollow points. I didnt take the pics, they were taken by the owner. I don't know what model the Hogue grip is either. I hope Bob joins the ar15.com group, the more the merrier.

Here is a quote from the owner of the rifle, "The grip is a Hogue Handall Jr. The stock is 8.5", haven't decided if I'm going to use the rubber recoil pad or not. I'll decide when I have an opportunity to shoot it. With the 8.5, recoil pad and your adapter, length of pull is almost identical to the original stock. I thought the 9.5 would be a bit too long for me. Also stock is fixed. Didn't know my rifle would be popular. I like to keep things simple. Rifle has been shot a lot, I just take good care of my weapons. None are safe queens, I shoot every one, just not as often as I like. As far as accuracy. I can hit half gallon milk cartons from the sitting position with the irons @ 200 yds. all day long." Regarding the Master Molder magazine "Master Molder was from North Carolina I believe. They were the manufacture of American made Thermold mags. Leased or sold the process to the Canadians, who then changed the formula and created the infamous Thermelts. Having said that, I have a few Canadian Thermold 30,'s I use on a regular basis and have no problems with them. Bob" Also, Bob has replaced the front sight post with an A1 round NM .050 post. He ground it down to about half the original height. He then took a few thousands off the bottom of the sight detent. With these two mods he still has a lot of elevation left, and for him a much better sight picture. He says you can really see the difference @ 200 yds. |

well.... i guess i want the same length as the standard stock so 8.5in should work. I worked at a near by gander mountian so i think they might have the hogue grip in stock. the only problem with that store is their in house gunsmith cannot legally work on my AR cause the store dosent have the proper liscense to work on or sell "tactical" rifles. horter has anyone replaced the trigger in their 180b??? do the ar-15 drop in trigger setups fit in the ar180b?? a more precise trigger on the ar-180b would be nice espacally now that i got my scope. |
| I own the rifle Josh posted the pictures of. I have a White Oak Precision Rock River trigger in it. Took about 10 minutes to install. I also replaced the short front sight post with an A1 round .050 NM. Took it down to about half, works fine, much better sight picture. |

Hi guys. Thanks for the welcome Josh. The weight is just a little over 4.5 lbs. I shot Highpower Service rifle competition for about 15 years. Min trigger weight is 4.5 lbs, so I put the same trigger in all my AR type rifles. I even have it in my AR-10. They can be purchased from either White Oak Precision or ADCO. I've gotten them from both places. I have them in 4 different rifles. If you get one from ADCO, get the "tuned" trigger. It is about $20.00 more than the standard NM, but well worth the money. I bought an Improved RRA trigger from Adco Firearms in early April. I installed my RRA trigger and out of the bag, without any grease, the 1st stage was 2 lbs 6 ozs and the 2nd stage was 3 lbs 1 oz, for a total pull weight of 5 lbs 7 ozs. I coated the contact points with Shooter Choice Grease and worked the trigger roughly 200 times. The 1st stage is now 2 lbs 4 ozs and the 2nd stage is now 2 lbs 7 ozs, for a total pull weight of 4 lbs 11 ozs. Just went into the work area and measured the pull weight. The 1st stage is still 2 lbs 4 ozs and the 2nd stage is still 2 lbs 7 ozs. |

Here's my pic from this morning after a range trip: I received the bipod adapter last night and mounted it up. The range trip went very well. I believe the bipod allowed me to have a more steady rest and improved my groups. I shot roughly 3/4 groups at 50 yards and 1.5-2.0 groups at 100 yards, using Lake City XM193 55 gr ball ammo. That's about as good as I can shoot with mil sur ammo. I decided to remove the bayonet lug from the bravo this morning. I continued to have trouble with the gas block loosening at the range. This defective bayo lug has been the cause of ALL my troubles with the bravo, so I solved the problem by removing it all together. I also elected to leave off the front sling mount to give my folding bipod more clearance. On a high note, I got lots of questions about the bravo at the range. Lots of, "what's that you're shooting?" Gotta love it.

hehe... yep! my mommy bought me a box of 64 from the dollor store. it was easy as hell too - just rubbed the wax from the crayons all in the little nooks and cranies of the letters then brushed off the remander with my bore brush. - simple as pie.

I did a trigger job today on the 180b and the M4. The 180's trigger still has a little more travel than I'd like but I managed to reduce the pull significantly, and rid it of the existing grainy feel. The trigger on the M4 is about as perfect as you can get, very short and lighter pull, no grainy feel, and a crisp break. I feel a

Here's my Bravo. Stormwerkz adapter with a modified Tapco AK stock. Flash supressor is in the works. *Sigh* ohh well... here i go again...     I added a surefire on the front rails with 2 old 1" scope rings, i think it adds a nice additional touch. it works great too... i can push the tail cap switch with my pointer finger without taking my hand off the vert grip.  I may switch the mount to just one wider ultra-low scope ring the next time i find myself near gander mountain. |
