| First time user, I am having some issues with my pistol. Sone times when firing last round the charging handle will slam to the rear. Some times when firing last shot the bolt will not remain open but if I pull the charging handle to the rear the bolt will lock. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Bought from BCA? HA!!! Too funny. I posted about a year ago about a 10.5 7.62 upper I bought from BCA that had trouble cycling, they would never answer the phone, email, etc. poor customer service until I complained to BBB. Then, 2 days later I got email from them to send the upper in and it came back 2 weeks later and has been fine since. No clue as to what they did as they don't communicate. Won't buy from BCA |

On the last shot hold open issue: Load one round and see if it locks back. Do this several times (like 10) to get an idea of the frequency this occurs. An AR was originally designed to be shouldered. If you have a brace or shoulder the buffer tube, you'll likely have better chance of the last round locking the chamber open. If holding the pistol with one or two hands without rear support it will more likely not lock back. Similar to holding a pistol with a limp wrist. Another cause could be ammunition. My 7.5" X39 wouldn't lock back with steel case ammo, but does lock back 100% with my brass case reloads. I believe the steel cases don't seal the chamber as well as the brass so it causes it to short stroke. Mine won't even chamber the next round consistently. I shoulder the buffer tube to eliminate the issue mentioned above. I decided instead of the x39 pistol, I'd use the parts to make a 16" X39 carbine and build a 9mm RDB 8" pistol instead.  |

In my experience, I have to say do not use ASC mags. I bought several and they all malfunctioned in one way or another. I literally threw them away. Every Duramag I have tried worked fine. Your buffer spring might be too stiff if it doesn't allow the bolt to cycle far enough back to catch the bolt lock on the return. Or, you may have installed a spring that is too long for the application. As already mentioned by another, put an empty mag in it and pull the charging handle to see if you have enough travel to lock the slide back. If it locks this way, then the spring is too stiff for your ammo. If it doesn't, your spring is probably stacking. You could also have a restricted gas system. |
