I'm looking for a specific mount for my TA31, but I'm not sure it exists. I'm looking for a lightweight, non QD mount that cantilevers to the rear, and doesn't raise the ACOG much above 1.54".  Anyone know of such an animal? The Unity Kickr is interesting,  but looks like it may raise an acog to 2".

From what I found, most of the cantilever ACOG mounts are QD and raise the centerline to 2". The ADM AD-B3-HD MODULAR BASE is QD and brings centerline height to 1.62" but looks like it's a standard mount not cantilever. The LaRue Tactical LT681 ACOG RCO Mount is also QD and cantilever bringing it to 1.5"- 1.78" (found multiple answers). That would be the closest match to what you're looking for.

I don't recall any ACOG cantilever mounts, and if they did exist, it would seem difficult to make it at 1.54 as it seems you'd get into significant interference with the charging handle pretty quickly.
Best bet is likely just going to be to drop any rear BUIS (or at least move it in front of the optic) move the optic as far back as it will go (gets the ocular a little behind the charging handle) and collapse the stock an extra click in.

Have you seen the Kram spacer?

The only mount you’re going to find that in is a Larue.  You’ll have to sacrifice one or the other.  Do you want more rearward cantilever or non-QD more?  KRAM spacer will be the next best thing but you’ll be above 1.54 to do it.

@Teller_Ulam

This is what you want Closest thing to Non QD

Trijicon Qloc

Basically non QD if you tighten it enough. If not the same height as the ta51 it’s real close

Schaffer machine makes one that’s not technically cantilevered but you can mount it back a few spaces and the height is what you want.

The Larue RCO is a great option too, don’t fear the QD lever. It is slightly higher I think, I’d have to measure it. But it’s fine

Thanks for the recommendations! So far the Trij Q lok looks the closest to what I'm looking for. It's a bit spendy, but I may check it out. I currently use a Scalarworks. It is light and cantilevers back, but I try to avoid qd if I can help it

Certainly cheaper than scalarworks

I'm completely the opposite -- I use QD on almost everything so I can swap different optics for different tasks. Multiple rifles set up with dots and irons, Multiple with mid power variables and thermal. I hunt predator tournaments and with friends, so being able to bring two rifles plus two extra scopes as either back up or for two guys to hunt all day and night is great. As long as it is a good quality QD mount that returns to zero, why sweat it?

I used to worry about it but after testing their return to zero I do not any longer. If you find something you like aside from the QD, I'd encourage you to try it. For a good quality off the shelf solution that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, look to ADM. They just work, and you can watch the tests kline to see it yourself before buying.

Now, with that said, do not buy anything that isn't proven. If it doesn't return to zero it is pretty pointless.

Sure, but you still have to zero the optic when switching it to a new rifle. Then zero again when returning it to the original rifle.  I also swap optics around and still have to zero them, unless he optic was siting on a shelf and now going back on the original rifle. Even then, zero should be verified.
Unless I'm misunderstanding and you mean you have more optics than rifles, or multiple optics dedicated per rifle. That would be a nice problem to have. I have a lot more guns than optics and the optics bounce between rifles.  I this case, a good RTZ doesn't matter

Yes, I have a lot more optics than rifles. For example, each rifle that gets used for thermal hunting also has a day scope. Every one with a red dot also has irons. Etc.

Thermals are extra flexible due to multiple zeroing profiles.
