Im referring to bulk ammo, in my case 115 grn PMC. My set up is a 16in Colt 9mm. It’s zeroed at 50 yards. At 25 yards it stacks rounds. At 50 the groups opened a bit, but still impressive. At 75 groups opens up more, I’dsay it was about 4 in, but still acceptable. At 100 it was shotgun pattern. My target was an 8in shoot and see target. Though all the shots were within the 8 in target, I wasn’t impressed. Is this the norm for bulk 9mm? Am I expecting to much from a PCC? Now I normally don’t shoot my AR9 at 100 yrds. When I do, it’s usually shooting at 10in steel targets. Ringing steel kinda gave me that satisfaction, but putting it on paper I wasn’t impressed. |

FWIW... Bonded style 9MM tended to be the most accurate from my 16" . I had the best groups from , Federal, +P 135gr Tactical Bonded HP......1345fps.... if memory serves me... about 3MOA Some of the ammo "seemed" to not like the additional RPM's generated from the additional velocity. And a ton of chrono data from my 16", granted a few years old... but good info ... ( Apr. 2017 ) Sorry some of the pics are gone.... Time to do a little fitting.. set the barrel back in the upper and set headspace so that a loaded cartridge in a 0.743" long case stick above barrel face 0.135", hopefully leaving you with a 0.010 gap between face of bolt and barrel face with cartridge firmly held in chamber by case mouth and bolt face If you find you need to deepen chamber a wee bit to get desired measure, use a std MANSON 9mm reamer to touch the chamber slowly to desired results Now load up some ammo with quality bullets and go for test drive |

I don’t know if I have the capability or want to invest into all that. I’ve never shoot anything other that bulk 115 grn and 124 grn (Stuff like Blazers, Federal American Eagle, Winchester, PMC, etc.) ammo out of this thing. This was the very first time I shot it on paper at 100 yards. The majority of the time on paper was 25 or 50 yards. I will say that I believe it did better with 124 grns, but I haven’t put 124 grn on paper at 100 yards yet. I will try that next time. I haven’t attempted it with hollow points like Gold Dots or HST yet. Is there such a thing such as off the shelf match grade 9mm FMJ besides loading your own? It’s funny, shooting a 9mm rifle at 25 yards it’s impressive and you are bagging to your buddies and giving high fives and all that, but but once you stretch the distance there is no more high fives. |
| All shots within 8" at 100 yards with bulk ammo...I wouldn't be complaining. Besides, 100 yards is a bit far for 9mm pistol rounds. Either way, with the accuracy you're seeing, hitting a torso sized target at that distance wouldn't be terribly hard...unless you're just interested in super accuracy on paper. |
