Still cutting on the JW collection of 7.62x39's, near the 130 mark by now. wolfganggross

| In the begining, was staying away of the 7.62x39 round for sectioning because of how many different rounds that are available. A collector friend (JW) helped out by supplying two of every intresting round for cutting, one for him and one for me. We are up to about 130 rounds, have mass posted the first 80 about year ago on AK47 forum, need to take pics at the end off all (about 150 from 35 countries +/-). DD you ever sell your collection? |

Sectioned cartridges are a specialty within a specialty... Might take it for a spin on one of the online auction sites. Something about that Yugo HPT round does not look right. The tip color on these is generally longer... Does the primer have an annular crimp and is it painted black? DD thanks for the news on the Romanian. The Yugo HPT are two halves, the one on the right is the orginal paint and yes they both had black primers and crimp, That one came out perfect. The one on the left (the cutaway) fell into the grinder in the middle of cutting, spinning the bullet scrathing it all up and taking off the paint. Bummer! I sanded it back smooth and repainted just that one, which is the stain on the lead on the front of that bullet. JW gets the nice one, I get the scratched.
Its all to often that there is 2 - 6 hours into doing some of these and I get offered $10 for it!?! That doesn't include finding the round, grinders, sandpaper, glues ... Thats why its a hobby. Your collection is priced just right in my eyes, too. (If I wasn't broke, would have made offer on the 5.45 russians, just so wouldn't have to cut them myself.) Wolfganggross |

| Don't think the 80 round pre collection made it to the cutaway forum, only bits and pieces, because I posted on the AK page for those guys. Some people did copy it, not me though. If you need a copy can dig it out of my computer and repost it. The other finished collection will be done in couple of months if you can wait. wolfgang |
