Apart from some lower part updates, I haven't changed my fundamental setup in years, but I have tossed around the idea of swapping the T2 for an ACOG/RMR combo. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53990135094_427b32b3a7_b.jpg @Bringo delayed response lol forgot i posted that in here. but to answer your question, i love the little leupold on this thing. it's good to 200y with pretty much any 110gr-125gr ammo. since i've posted the pic, it's been torn down and parts scavenged for other stuff. i did pick up a 7.25" LMT LM8 receiver and am thinking of sending this barrel to D.W. to convert to work in the LMT receiver. i have a KAK shorty buffer tube that i'll be using with a chopped down LWRC UCIW Stock, and run the SBRX can with 2 baffle modules instead of the full length in the picture, all of that will reduce the overall size by 4" +/- and still be able to hit hard out to 200 with supers. -t |

I've got a URX on the way and thinking about picking up an Omega and using a 5 or 6" barrel. I have it on a rearden plan b hub mount and a cherry bomb on a 7.0" barrel. If you used a 5" barrel, you could knock 2" off of that so you'd still have half an inch sticking out. Also, just to clarify in case it's not clear, but the Omega 9k has a smaller diameter than an Omega 300. The 300 wouldn't fit under the URX. |

| Is going from a 10.3" to a 12" worth it? I currently have a 10.3 BA Hanson barrel setup primarily for supers with just subs for funsies shooting steel. I'm thinking about switching out to a 12" to use my AEM5 30 cal. From what I've seen, velocity will go up about 100 FPS. |

Hi, i had to register because of how ironic it is that i just went through the exact same process last week (labor day sales) with the exact same barrel lengths if not barrels (10.3" ba hanson to 12" ba modern). My reason was because i only shoot supers really, don't want a suppressor tied up in a home defense/travel firearm and i didn't like the flash and concussion i was still getting with the 10.3". Plus, with a muzzle device (bcm mod 1 comp in my case), i was already over 12" anyway, so why not just get a longer barrel and short muzzle device for more velocity and less concusion/flash? Having read some of this thread, here's a picture to keep in the rules.  Ignore the bipod mount, it's just there because i function shot and half ass zeroed it with 60 fiocchi 123gr fmj and 50 defender 120gr tmj (didn't realize that the berry's bullets in them are not rated for supersonic until afterwards) after work just this friday and don't plan on putting the vfg on until later after i've truly gone through chronoing and zeroing. I did notice a better drop with the fiocchi, but the defender is still questionable (live and learn, sometimes ammo is cheap for a reason). With the 12" barrel and a cmmg zeroed linear comp it clears a 12" handguard by .75". Anyway, hope this rambling somehow helps, just really found it crazy how someone else is going through the exact same thing and had to chime in. |
