I’m sure this has been asked a million times, but I can’t find any recent threads. Got my lower built. Working on a 8-9” .300 blackout build. Going to order a barrel next (8-9). What and where to order? Considering Wilson Combat, Noveske, and Centurion. Open to options. Mostly will be a HD gun. Doesn’t have to be super accurate but I want something that’s quality too. |
| Seekins makes a very highly regarded 8.3". Mine has 23k (ish) rounds down it. Can't speak to it's accuracy to be honest as I shoot 98% coated subs through it, but I have zero complaints, it's gassed well and stabilizes everything I ask it to, 110 to 250gr, and the threads are cut straight as my can has zero baffle strikes. |

If your budget can afford the likes of Noveske or Centurion. I see no problem with those options. For my home defense/truck gun I didn't feel like I needed a $300 plus barrel that may not actually give me $200 better performance. Instead I chose to go with a Rosco Bloodline 8.2" that I got on sale for $100 and put the extra $200 savings toward something I would find more practical use for, a suppressor (or at least the tax stamp). In HD/SD situations I would much rather maintain my hearing vs chase after absolute accuracy. That said the Rosco barrel has been an extremely good performer for me. But so has my 9" Ballistic Advantage (which some people may not agree with). |
| Griffin’s 9.5” HEDP barrel is really nice, and comes with a low profile gas block. Looking around though, I’m not seeing them in stock. |

I haven't been a big fan of Ballistic Advantage barrels in 5.56, due to short barrel life. With 300 Blackout, you really don't have those concerns. Not to the extent that you do with 5.56, anyway. I do have an 8" BA barrels and it's been a real shooter. I used it with the intention of upgrading to a criterion, if I liked the rig. After having shot it, I dont feel the need to upgrade at all. Shooting AAC 110gr Sabers, it'll keep them all well within a 2" paster target with a 3.5x ACOG at 100 yards. Idk, maybe its just that .30 cal has an inherent accuracy. |
