I purchased a like new 2008 Olympic Arms MRF with an A1 upper. I know Olympic used to be considered bottom of the barrel but the fit a finish actually looks pretty nice. I used to have one back in 2004 for my first AR but it was a non thread ban era model. This also came with an origioanl preban Canadian Thermold mag. The barrel says SS 556 and is an HBAR. I may replace the barrel and bolt or just shoot it as is.     |

Oly had some fit & finish issues (solved in the last years of production) but their barrels were actually nice & accurate.. especially those marked SUM Never understood why they never went away from cast FSB on all builds and SS416 barrel on the tactical carbines though |

I wouldn’t fix it until it needs something. Olympic post ban lower receivers were rough, with holes nonconcentric, bolt hole unthreaded, and other fitment issues. Once assembled they are good to go. |

| Match barrels were very accurate. Duty barrels were overgassed. Most of the internals were cast garbage. But as you mention, they look nice. |
