I am building a retro-ish AR. I want the military style handgaurd. I have the Delta ring and a round end cap. I can't get it to work. The cap misaligns the gas tube with the gas block. The hand guards are loose and have a gap between the two halves. I had to notch the guards to fit the cap. Even my Stoopid Delta wrench slips. Help please. I'd like the triangle handguard. My rifle uses mid length gas tubes and guards. Next time I will get a rifle length set up. That way I can use a cut down military style gas block. If anyone wants to do a trade, I would offer my nice, stainless, unfired. 223 Wylde, mid length set-up barrel and adjustable gas block for a rifle barrel and military type, or cut down military type gas block set-up. I forget my barrel brand, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. I have a Wylde reamer, so no concerns there. I even have a small base for for 223. I just want to finish this learning experience and move on. I have 3 80% receivers to build yet, plus I want an AR-10. I think I will buy built uppers from now on, if there are any without forward assist and have a military 2 piece handguard with low military gas blocks. I don't know what to build on the lowers. I should have bought AR10 80% lowers for a 22-250, 308/7.62 and a 45-70? I will use my lowers someday for 223 without numbers. I have a 22 rimfire upper to put on this and sell. I am rimfire wealthy, dollar poor. Same with Marlin 336 levers. I am building a store branded collection. I also have a Glenfield 35Rem. I hunt with a Glenfield 30-30 hybrid blued/stainless straight lever. I am building a similar 35Rem. |

| You may need to post a pic, but mid-length typically uses the triangle cap, hence so do most of the handguards. I THINK Magpul might make the only 2-piece handguard that can use either one. No one makes the triangle handguards in mid-length...only rifle & carbine (that I've seen). |

Index your delta ring a mm. Might make the gas tube line up. Lots of Chinese parts floating around. You might have inadvertently received some which never fit right. And the picture link does not work. |
