I am looking for a 12.5 mid gas barrel and trying to find the best one without over spending. My guns have BA, Faxon, and Larue barrels right now. Ba doesn't make a 12.5 mid gas barrel I like. They only have one, the govt profile - which seems like a silly profile, I've never liked that profile. KAK I have no experience with. They have a phosphate CHF chrome lined for 229. Griffin has a 223 wylde nitride that seems like a super high quality barrel with 5R rifling. 290. Faxon duty series gunner - I have 2 of these barrels - Theyve been good so far. 175. Citerion doesnt seem to have a mid gas. Right now the two I am thinking of are the Griffin and the faxon. This gun will likely spend 90% of its time with a can on it, and will have a griffin adjustable gas block. Any other suggestions? |

I have 1 of those Aero Precision Pro series CHF 12.5 mid length barrels. Haven’t measured the gas port but it is very conservatively ported. It’s a light non-government profile If you find one of those floating around it’d be a good candidate. |

I have a custom chopped 12.7 mid and it has a .076 gas port with a .073 BRT gas tube and it runs everything down to underpowered wolf steel .223 with a colt carbine spring and H1 buffer. Contrary to popular belief you dont need to have a gigantic gas port to cycle midlength 12.5" setups. Originally Posted By cryo_tech: Right now I am leaning toward the griffin.
