Will a .068 run fine in a 11.5 carbine 5.56 gun unsuppressed? I'm having the barrel made so I can go with whatever I want. |

I tried .065 in an 11.5" build. It would run with a carbine spring and standard buffer with any of my Geissele REBCG's. It would not run with the Spike's BCG intended for the upper until I opened the gas port to .067. .068 should be fine. This also answers the question I just asked in your other thread. |

You could go down to around 0.062" and still function if everything else is assembled correctly. You should have no issue with 0.068"; if anything, you could go a bit smaller. It's worth keeping in mind that a 10.3" will function flawlessly unsuppressed with a 0.070" GP. And that has significantly less dwell time. |
