I have seen discussions (long ago) about the provenance of bolt carriers marked 'J'. People have (stated? guessed?) that they are from J.C. Machine in Phoenix. What I can tell you is that years ago, 2003-2004, I acquired a small box full of 'J' carriers with this label affixed, below. I gave most to a friend who was building rifles but I kept two or three. I am reminded of these because I just opened my stash o' stuff and pulled one out to assemble a new BCG. The more you know ... for posterity.   |

| I had one years ago and remember reading they were from a company in Minneapolis. I used mine for a super-autistic "could be" clone of a 604 that was upgraded to an M16A2 with a CAPCO upper and the carrier replaced with one of these. |
