Sounds like a happy ending at the end of this mess for you, glad it worked out and they are going to cover the costs of replacement. I'd think hard about shooting that replacement ammo. |

If you still have the ammo and if it was me, I'd pull the bullets and work up a load using the powder and shoot them. I had to do that years ago with an overpressure lot of Sellier & Bellot 7x57R.
Saved some dough. While you are pulling bullets, weigh a dozen or more charges as they come from the cases. Might be revealing... |

I would have said no to the free box of ammo. I truly wasn't joking when I said I turned down 1,000 rounds for free.
While I'm glad to hear they are taking care of your rifle, I'm still baffled that after all these years and all of these rifles blown up, they still fuck things up so bad. I'd be willing to bet someone from the company reads here and I'd be interested to know why they don't modify their quality control to avoid costing them so much money replacing rifles. |
