I also have one that came with my .308 AP4. I emailed DPMS and there response was that the sight is only made to ajust to 300 yds. I was going to order a carrying for my .308, I guess I'll save my money and get a LMT rear sight. Mine would was 1click before the 5 marking.

I had a similar problem, but the DPMS sight base would barely turn to 5 index mask. I replaced the sight base and the index wheel with an 8/3 base and wheel. I now have 3 clicks from 300 to the 4, 4 clicks from the 400 to the 500, 5 clicks from the 500 to the 6 , and 6 clicks from 600 to 7 and 7 clicks from the 700 to the 800 marking . Is this correct?

That's how my Colt A2's 8/3 wheel works.

dissamble everything that goes boinggg or binggg in a large plastic bag right after you say "da&& what was that" you can look in the bag and find it.(lesson learned the hard way) old too soon smart too late.

I have both good and bad news. The bad news is that I bought one of those DPMS BU sights.

The good news is I put it on a .45 CavOly. Set and forget! It works pretty well for that purpose. Not going to shoot past 100 yards with a .45 except for fun, anyway.

At least I know better for next time.

thanks for this lesson, mongo.
i had just purchased a flat top w/DCH from CMMG when i came across this thread.
my DCH came with an A2 thread pitch rear sight base and elevation knob, but an A4 elevation index.
this resulted in numbers (3/4/5/6) being off, and the site topped off shy of 5.
called CMMG and they made it right! thanks John!
