I am planning on buying a POF model P415 16.5 inch barrel model number 00405. I have read the specs on the web site and did not see what the rifling was. IE 1/7 1/8 1/9. Does anyone know what it is? The 14.5" barrel on my P-415 is stamped "5.56 NATO 1-8" and it's a laser. |
| I've put about 500 rounds thru my 14.5 inch 308 and shot multiple 3 round groups under an inch at 200 yards with match grade ammo. I've even shot 20 round groups into targets out to 650 yards with wolf ammo that would easily put them all in a mans chest. POFmakes one hell of a rifle. My only complain is the rifle makes everything else look inadequate. |

It's one of the lightest 7.62 rifles out there. Wuh? I'm not knocking the rifle, just saying it's heavy. Especially the 5.56 version. I had the Hogan H-308 (basically the same exact thing as the P-308) and it was a beautifully shooting rifle. I loved it and could not say enough good things about it. And then, I shot a SCAR-17S. I was never the same after that....

Some video of my P-308 at the range this weekend
I Went to the range to try two new 25rd mags and brown bear 140gr SP in the P-308. The mags had a few issues with the first 2-3 rounds of soft point. The rifle functioned fine. I expect the mags to wear in with a little use. They seem to feed fine after the first rounds have been shot. I'll report more as they get more cycles through them. 
A friends 13yr old daughter shot it a few times and enjoyed it!

I think this might be my first post, been lurking for a bit.
Just thought I share a little info. I picked up my POF 415 14.5" just before Christmas @ Buds for just under $1500. Just checked their site and they are still available. The Pic shows the VLTOR and Ergo, but mine had Magpul for both stock and grip, mfg in July of '13. I was a little apprehensive because of the price, but was pleasantly surprised. Bought a M&P 15-22 as well... $399. |

You can't beat that price for a Pof. I owned a P415 before and it was a great gun, wish I kept it. |
| I have owned one along with a few Noveskes, a few LWRCs, LMTs, etc. I can say I really liked the POF and it was very, very accurate but I didn't torture it by any means. Since getting rid of mine, I have heard horror stories about them quitting on lots of people in classes and even one particular instructor making someone put his back in his car at the beginning of a course and having him use a borrowed gun for the course. I would follow the advice on here and go with an LWRC is set on a piston or go with a KAC, Noveske, Larue if you want a DI gun instead. |
