I made the cheek rest to extend over the ejection port slightly just as a precaution against any possible upward ejected brass but it doesn't seem to have been needed for that possiblity. Maybe it helped in any felt gasses being deflected away from my face...don't know if that's the case. When shooting suppressed the opening chamber noise is closer to my ear but nothing my ear plugs can't handle. Of course an 11" long (form 1) suppressor kinda offsets the advantage of the bullpup for close quarters plinking agility.

A legal length rifle doesn't become illegal if it's fired from the hip etc. (just as an example). The location of the shoulder stock doesn't shorten the rifle's total overall length which is what is specified. And of course the 16" barrel isn't a SBR. All good !

It's been a fun 'hobby' project. I was suprised how the recoil tube position made the gun's feel in my hands seem light.

Last night I was shooting it at an indoor range with the suppressor. Standing between the lane barriers with no breeze I was aware of the chamber gasses when I was breathing. I didn't feel it I smelled & tasted the gasses. Not pleasent. It wasn't as bad without the suppressor on but mostly it was the still air between the barriers that made it worse. When I shot it outdoors I didn't notice the gasses. I would imagine shooting any bullpup would be effected by those conditions. |

Well I have spent more time with this bullpup setup & am still pleased with it. The only issue was when I was shooting at that indoor range. I fault the lack of air circulation there more than the rifle but if you mostly shoot at indoor ranges a bullpup probably is the best option for you. As far as the recoil tube position resting on the shoulder, I believe it has some positives to offset the unique look. The majority of the loaded bullpup's weight is supported on the shoulder & less is felt in the hands gripping the rifle. It also makes the lighter feeling shorter rifle seem quicker to access the target aiming. When relaxing between shooting the resting position on the shoulder has the rifle more in a 'ready' position without the hands supporting the weight. Anyway, as I said before, this isn't my hunting or target shooting gun but it is a fun shooter.
