I assume you mean for the M4 length, I would not wait becuase the few cosmetic changes that we (KAC) are considering for the M4 length URX are only "on paper" at this point. The M4 URX as Wes has so well illustrated above is all that you will see for a long time. But the good news here is that we have them on-the-shelf and ready to ship. Also ready to go are the mid and rifle lengths. By the way, what Wes and Paul have done with their timing thing illustrated above is how I have done all my personals as well. It just looks and feels better as well as being bed-rock solid. |

I just measured this one and its little bigger than 2.125" WITHOUT panels (2.5" with KAC Panels)

Its not like I would be able to swap it out on another upper in a matter of minutes, though I'm sure someone here will prove me wrong. |

Sorry, guess I should have explained. I have NEVER worried about .125 of an inch of width on anything, barrel or rail. I also have never worried about a 1/16 of a pound on a rifle. When I said versatile, I meant 1. Capable of doing many things competently. 2. Having varied uses or serving many functions, .i.e, I like the fact that the front sight is integrated, has integrated sling mounts, a removable lower rail. Those options make the price point worth it to me than to buy another rail and have to add those on and make it bulkier. Everyone can have their own opinion as I am not tryng to force mine upon anyone, just trying to add my own experience with the rail itself. And about needing to get it sent off to be installed and not being able to put it on another rifle, well I have never had that problem as when I build something, I build it the way I wanna keep it. IIf the barrel wears out after a couple of years, chances are that I am gonna be sending it off anyways to get put on. Again, YMMV. |

I got lucky and had a new Colt/Diemaco M4 upper receiver match up perfectly and slightly snug with a rifle length URX, no machining needed. Are URX's now shipping with new barrel nut style, or the original steel 4-notch still? |

Being that the M4 gas block sits in front of the rail forend, there is no reason for the type 2 nut. The type 2 nut just makes it easier to deal with gas block taper pins in the mid length if you are using a LP gas block under the rail. |

Old - 23375 New - something something - 3 Your reference to P/N: 23375 applies only to the Mid-Length upper URX machined part. This is sometimes lased on the part for identification purposes. However, we are currently transitioning to marking the primary assembly component with the entire assembly P/N to avoid such confusion. But this new practice is becoming a classic “six of one, half-dozen of another” scenario. The complete Mid-Length URX assembly (upper, lower, barrel nut, screws, and handguard panels) available for sale is 20549-3. |
