| I don't know about all of it- but much of Knight's collection comes from a trade with Colt. Knight and Stoner pitched the "All American 2000" handgun concept to Colt and in part of the agreement Knight traded Colt for their MG collection. Judging by the success of the handgun, I'd say Knight got a deal. In the work-up of the design Stoner did most of the conceptual work and Knight helped with the machining, etc. The prototype was made of aluminum. |

Almost correct.....it was in payment for royalties. Knight had a cast-iron license agreement which forced Colt to pay minimum royalties even if they meet sales projections. IIRC the weapons were obtained during one of Colt's bankruptcies but I could be wrong. HFG |

+1 Maybe those ideas are "mature" enough now for more people to see their advantages. In addition to the previously mentioned list, I see something that looks a lot like a "Crane" telestock in there. I may have to replace my keyboard now from the drooling , thanks SMGLee

Yes, that is the Colt SOCOM contender pistol. The ACR handguard was to my recollection a shotgun type rib, to help aiming at close ranges in extremely quick situations. |

I was thinking the same thing on all those features that we see today. I didn't realize some were that old. The flip up irons and the middy were the biggest surprise to me. I didn't realize there were so many variants of the Stoner 63 either. I thought there were only 3 or 4.  Thanks for posting Chen!!! |
 I wish i had seen this thread earlier. Thanks for the pics Chen. On the last pic posted, Specifically the two 20" with folding FS and the carbine above the ACR- does anyone recognize the little circular device about an inch left of the brass deflector? What is it? Also......I gotta ask, where are the M4s? |
