I wouldn't mind removing the sharks fin from the selector for added measure. But leave the hammer as is for the cool look factor. After all they are supposed to LOOK like the real deal. Removing the "sharks fin" from the safety will allow your weapon to fire in the "FULL" position (but only semi automatically). Alteration of the disconnector and NOT REMOVING the "sharks fin" from the selector will not allow your weapon to fire at all in the "FULL" position - in effect the "FULL" is then another "SAFE" position. The "tail" on the disconnector is the most evil and dangerous part of a FA FCG. |
On a positive note she still shoots just as sweet as she did when she rolled of the colts factory floor. Lol well the conglamoration of parts that became her. Also that MVP barrel is a sweet accurate shooter. The trigger is really outstanding now. Also no full auto action. Even in position 3. Colts made good quality stuff. 52 years later still laser accurate. No sight adjustments made. I mean this is best M16 trigger I have ever shot and I have shot A LOT. So smooth and great break for a stock part. I think they changes some things since the early XM rifles. Disconector are trigger dimensions must have changed. Workmanship in making parts in early 60s must have been outstanding.
