Quoted: @msch42 That is the diameter for gas block journal size and it is the same across all of their barrels. Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough? ![]() @urbankaos04 I'm pretty sure its one size only for the Centurion barrels, the lightweight profile is .750 same as the midweights. I've only ever seen their gas blocks in .750 as well, but they sell the tabbed versions that interface with the tab cutout at the gas journal of their barrels which is really dope, and I think Geissele's new standalone barrels have a similar cut out. Not sure if they fit each other but thought it worth mentioning |

Robert, the owner of microMOA did a lot of research on this. His company is out of business but you can find some of the info on his website in the internet archives. He used to post on this sit as amphibian if I remember correctly so you may be able to find old posts also. He used a full auto lower for testing and looked at rate of fire as the main metric. He found that chamber specs, diameter of barrel at gas port, and angle of gas port hole all affect the ROF, not just the port diameter. An angled port would allow you to run smaller diameter and get same rate of fire. Also tighter chamber allows smaller port for same ROF. I can’t remember which way the barrel diameter variable went. Bottom line is that while the size and location of the port are the most important variables, there are a number of other factors at play. |
