I've been experimenting with the negative image effect as well as colorization. I will post some more when I get a few extra minutes. Thanks for the great tips. I will never take another "standing over" the rifle pic again. |
Just in case you ever do, make sure you remove the toes from the pic before you post it.

This is the best pic I've seen to date, I think. It's almost perfect. The only thing I would change is the angle of the bbl/stock. It divides the frame in half alomost perfectly in a diagonal wich draws the eye away from the Aimpoint. Every other line draws the eye toward the focal point (which is the Aim*point*(oh the irony)) which is very effectively highlighted with a subtle blue tint. Takes me back to the good ol' days of Foundation Drawing 1110. Nice pic.

I sure appreciate the kind words. This was just an experiment on my lunch hour yesterday. I really owe the credit to Stickman. Without his tips it would have never turned out. |
That is a BEAUTIFUL rifle!! I was really considering going that route with mine. Once again, that is beautiful. Jeeper21: i would imagine that's an IMI sling. that blue pocket is for hearing protection. I have no idea what is written in hebrew (?). There is a website for IMI that has all sorts of neat stuff to look at. WHOAH- FOUND IT IN THE NEXT THREAD I THINK IT IS: ISAYERET sbr223: I didn't read much of that thread but if everyone was acting like that first fucker, you don't need them and ought to dump them like a bad habit I like how those fuckers do NOT live in the United States but just love the HD. This is a 12+ year old Oly "pre-ban" that I reconfigured into an M4 clone. It is for another officer I work with, and he wanted it all black. I refinished everything with Norrells Moly Resin SOCOM. It is to bad I didn't take before pictures, because this one looked beat before it was rebuilt.

This is a friends Springfield. The before picture shows what it looked like stripped down to its bare frame. I did the frame OD green using Norrells (again), which matches the WC OD green, or perhaps I should say that WC matches the Norrells..... Everything else on the pistol was done in SOCOM. I wasn't a fan of two tone pistols, but I must admit that this one really looks good when you hold it in your hand and see it for yourself. The pictures just don't do it justice. This 1911 belongs to AR15.com member UHLEK, who was nice enough to help me out and spill Norrells all over my floor.  He made good with beer, and all was forgotten....Before  After
